Implement the Urban Traffic Management System in the Kingston Metropolitan Area
A contract was awarded for the implementation of the Urban Traffic Management System (UTMS) in March 2021 and the project is now eighty-six percent (86%) complete. Full completion is expected for May 27, 2022.
Integrate Vector management approach to curtail the aedes aegypti mosquito population
The second project will be the Integrated Vector Management Approach, which will aid in controlling Aedes Aegypti mosquitoes which are vectors of human pathogens such as the Zika Virus.
Complete a multipurpose gamma irradiation facility
On the agenda for the new fiscal year, is harnessing the power of nuclear technology through the completion of a multipurpose gamma irradiation facility.
Revive the National Medal and Innovation Awards Ceremony
The NCST, will also see to the revival of the National Medal and Innovation Awards Ceremony, to acknowledge scientific achievements and encourage creativity and innovation.
Host the Biennial Science and Technology Conference
Specifically, the Biennial Science and Technology Conference and the National Innovation Awards, will be hosted by the Ministry, SRC and NCST in November.
