Edmund Bartlett CD, MP

Political Career: Member of Parliament for St. James East Central. He first served as Minister of Tourism from 2007-2011 and has served in that portfolio since 2016. He served as Minister of State for Information, Broadcasting and Culture in the Office of the Prime Minister and Minister of Youth, Sports & Community Development from 1980 to 1989; later he served as Senator and Opposition Spokesman for various portfolios, including Tourism, from 1989 to 2007. In September 2020, MP Bartlett was appointed Leader of Government Business in the House, and serves on the following Parliamentary Committees:

  • Constituency Boundaries
  • House Committee
  • Standing Orders
  • Integrity Commission Oversight

Profession: Marketing and Sales executive.

Civic activities: Member, Lions Club of Sav-La-Mar; Jaycees, Montego Bay chapter; Electoral Advisory Committee (EAC) and Founder/Patron, Jamaica Foundation for Children.

Education: St. Elizabeth Technical High and the University of the West Indies (UWI).
