Parliamentarian

Political Career: MP Smith is currently serving as a Member of Parliament (MP) for St. Andrew North Western, representing the Jamaica Labour Party. He first won the seat in a by-election on November 22, 2024 and retained it in the September 2025 election. Prior to becoming an MP, Smith served three terms as a councillor for the Chancery Hall division. MP Smith currently serves on the following Parliamentary committees:

• Human Resources and Social Development (Chairperson)
• Infrastructure and Physical Development
• Internal and External Affairs
• Standing Finance
• Private Bills
• Joint Select Committee, Child Diversion Act

Civic Duties: He has served as a Board Director of the Culture, Health, Arts, Sports and Education (CHASE) Fund.
