Recommendation
Having regard to the provisions of Section 54(3)(b) of the Integrity Commission Act (2017), the DI referred a copy of the Investigation Report to the Director of Corruption Prosecution (DCP) for such actions as the Director may deem to be appropriate.
The Director of Investigation also referred the Report to the Director of Corruption Prosecution for her consideration as to whether the Contractor committed the offence of fraud, having regard to the submission of his Invoice for work purportedly done and for which the Director of Investigation, based on evidence, could not confirm.
JAMP Update
The Access to Information request was sent the St. Ann Municipal Corporation and the Ministry of Finance.
The ST. Ann Municipal Corporation Response:
“The Municipal Corporation has not received any further communication on the matter. The report submitted by the Director of Investigation is all we are aware of. It is suggested that you request the information being sought from the office of the Director of Prosecution.”
The Access to Information request officer assigned to the Ministry of Finance has reported that the request is being reviewed by the relevant individuals. JAMP is awaiting further information.
JAMP will also pursue a response from the Director of Corruption Prosecution at the Integrity Commission.
